Trauma Templating in OrthoView

Instructions

Selecting trauma procedure

  1. Load the patient data
  2. Select the Trauma Procedure
  3. Open the Procedure Selector panel, select Trauma, and then confirm the correct Bone and Surgical side.


Templating procedure with the trauma plate

  1. Select Large Plate, click Pre-select Template, and choose a template from the database.
  2. Click Add Procedure to confirm and hold Ctrl and select both AP and Lateral images.
  3. Click Start Plan.

       Verify and scale images 

  1. Inspect image markers (Right, Left, Anterior, Posterior) to confirm correct laterality and direction.
  2. Select the Quick Scale tool, click the calibration marker, and enter the correct dimension for the AP image.
  3. Repeat scaling for the lateral image and proceed automatically to the Reduce step.

       Reduce the fracture (steps are similar for AP and Lateral view) 

  1. To begin with the reduction, select the Reduction tool and left-click to outline the region of interest for the proximal fragment.
  2. Close the loop using Escape or by clicking the starting point.
  3. Translate the fragment by holding the left mouse button and moving the mouse.
  4. Rotate the fragment by right-clicking and moving the mouse away from the center of rotation.
  5. Repeat the same steps for the distal fragment.
  6. Adjust translation and rotation until satisfied, and click the Template tab to continue. 

       Template the trauma plate 

  1. Review the pre-selected plate template.
  2. Translate the plate by right-clicking and dragging the upper end icon.
  3. Adjust the length and rotation by clicking and holding the lower-end icon.
  4. If available, click Start Bending and contour the plate to the anatomy.
  5. Adjust screw lengths by clicking on the screw endpoints, and change screw types by right-clicking and selecting the desired option.
  6. Define the screw insertion order if needed.


Templating with the Nail Procedure

  1. Hide the plate template using the eye icon.
  2. Select Examination and click Add.
  3. Choose Tibial Nail and click Add Procedure.
  4. Translate and rotate the nail template to match the anatomy.
  5. Plan screw lengths, screw types, and insertion order.


Generate and save the report 

  1. To display the report, left-click and drag the report icon onto the X-ray.
  2. Right-click the report to customize its contents.
  3. Click Save or Commit to complete the planning process.
