Factory of the Future

Welcome to the
Factory of the Future!

When it comes to innovation, Materialise has always been a frontrunner. Now this has been officially recognized – Materialise has been crowned a ‘Factory of the Future’!

Created by trade associations Agoria and Sirris through the Made Different project and set to expand across Europe thanks to a grant from the European Commission, this award is tremendously valuable in reinforcing that 3D printing/Additive Manufacturing is a crucial component in the Factory of the Future, and that Materialise is at the forefront of technological advancement in Europe and beyond.

What does it take to be a Factory of the Future? Just being a pioneer in the industry is not enough.

Factory of the Future

A true Factory of the Future needs to be able to respond rapidly to the changing marketplace, to have sustainable production processes that engage their workers, to continuously excel in developing integrated, digital solutions, and to do so using state-of-the-art technology in a way provides added value for its clients. More than that, it needs to work hand-in-hand with companies and partners to develop solutions through collaboration.

Materialise embodies these challenges.

We BREATHE industry 4.0, we ARE industry 4.0, we ENABLE industry 4.0

To us, 3D printing is not just a production method. It’s an opportunity to rethink how you design, how you develop a product, even how you bring that product to the market. 3D printing is at the heart of amazing product transformations and new business models. That’s why we empower small and large businesses to harness the full potential of 3D printing technology with our software and printing services.

But our solutions can only reach their true potential through partnership, which is why we believe that collaboration is the key driver of innovation.

“If you want to be a Factory of the Future, you don’t work in a vacuum. Materialise has always been outspoken in its support of co-creation and open solutions. This is what makes us Materialise: we’re not into just producing parts. We’re taking a holistic view of the ecosystem and the role our core competences can play in adding value to it, no matter whether the products in question are industrial or medical.”

— Bart Van der Schueren, CTO of Materialise
