Quality Control Technician (3D Scan Measurement Technician)

As a 3D Scan Measurement Technician within Materialise's Manufacturing division, you'll work closely with production teams, sales engineers, and process engineers to ensure our processes and products are delivered within the required customer specifications. 

What you will do

  • Work in a metrology environment with optical 3D measuring equipment for automated (full surface) digitalization
  • Focus on the robustness of the process, including both technological and operational flow/logistical aspects
  • Know the intended process and have a view on the process as it is executed and its capabilities 
  • Build your expertise in the scanning process to take an active role in implementing improvements to scanning strategies across multiple customers
  • Ensure that the scanning process is well described and can be executed as intended. This includes up-to-date procedures and standard work sheets for operators, traceability guarantee, and logging of production-relevant data for analysis 
  • Support first article inspections (FAI), product validation, and quality investigations 

Your profile

  • Preferred degree: Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering Precision Engineering, Quality Management, etc. 
  • Technical skills: experience in 3D scanning, knowledge of dimensional measurement techniques, engineering drawings, and technical specifications, ability to interpret scan data and generate inspection reports
  • Quality Control and Manufacturing Experience: experience in quality inspection, product validation, manufacturing process monitoring and improvement, understanding of ISO 9001 and SOPs 
  • Process Improvement Skills: ability to analyze process capability and measurement results, experience improving scanning strategies, inspection methods, and production workflows 
  • Soft skills: strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, communication skills, ability to document processes clearly, organization skills, and teamwork
