LEUVEN, BELGIUM
ENGINEERING
HYBRID
FULL-TIME
ENGLISH CV

To support the growth of medical cases and product types we offer within a challenging and dynamic medical device market, we are looking for a motivated Process Engineer to join our Belgium-based forces as part of the CMF FLOW Agile Team.

Job description

Materialise offers a variety of patient-specific guides and implants on a global scale. For each case, our Services teams, located in three offices around the globe, work around the clock to convert patient MRI/CT images into successful 3D surgical plans. Next, our design engineers use in-house developed software solutions to design devices. Turning the design into reality is the final phase of the process, completed by our production teams using a variety of 3D printing and post-processing activities, after which detailed quality inspection, final cleaning, and packaging take place.

What you will do

  • Be responsible for the support, coordination, and implementation of improvements to the operational processes.
  • Build expertise with personalized and standard medical devices and software for case management, case reporting, and viewing.
  • Build expertise in customer-facing processes, including logistics and packaging-related topics.
  • Support the scoping of process and software developments, validation activities, implementation of the operational process, and post-release follow-up. In doing so, you develop a detailed understanding of operational needs and the tools, allowing you to provide second-line support when needed.
  • Get a high-level understanding and visibility over our manufacturing process, getting familiar with printing, post-processing, quality inspection, and cleanroom technologies.
  • In this multidisciplinary role, you will apply medical quality standards to the documentation and validation of your work.
  • Translate improvements into operational success by improving process documentation (work instructions), and maximizing design efficiency through interaction with trainers and software development teams.
  • Use process engineering tools to quantify the impact of your work.
  • At the heart of our process improvement cycle, you will enjoy close collaboration with stakeholders from operational, development, product, and research teams. Through involvement in various activities and projects, we set up a growth trajectory in which you can shape your own future within Materialise.

Your profile

  • Solid experience with medical devices, process improvements, and change management is considered a plus.
  • You have a strong interest in the medical device industry and various aspects of the operational process spark your curiosity, from design to customer interaction and logistics.
  • You are a quality-oriented person with an eye for detail; you have an analytical mind, and you are good at troubleshooting and problem-solving.
  • You have advanced, technical English skills, both spoken and written. French is a plus.
  • You have a strong, versatile, and proactive work ethic and you’re eager to learn.
  • You are highly motivated and stress-resilient. You show a significant degree of proactivity and are able to deliver good work independently as well as with process engineering HQ.
