As a technical consultant within the Medical unit of Materialise, you will support and advise medical implant companies in the design and marketing of their standard products. The services we offer range from the creation of virtual 3D models to statistical analyses of bones and other organs (ADAM). In addition, you will help medical device companies scale their operations by developing custom AI algorithms.

Job description

This role combines the existing ADAM (Anatomical Data Analytics and Modeling) services with an expanding scope of custom AI services. You will act as a technical bridge between customers, sales teams, and internal development and data teams, ensuring that customer needs are translated into high-quality, feasible, and timely solutions. 

What you will do

  • Coordinate with the teams in Ukraine and Malaysia, who are specialized in processing medical data and the development and testing of customer-specific software
  • Coordinate with sales teams all over the world, helping them to technically convince our customers to buy our projects, and work out the best solution for the customer with regard to scope, price, and lead times 
  • Use the framework designed by the research team to build AI models that meet the customer's needs
  • Ensure the successful execution and delivery of customer projects, managing dependencies and resolving technical issues across teams

Your profile

Education and experience 

  • Master’s Degree in a technical discipline with a medical focus (e.g., Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Sciences, Life Sciences, Biology) or equivalent 
  • 2–5 years of relevant experience in a technical, consulting, or project-oriented role
  • Experience with medical devices or medical software is a strong plus

Technical skills 

  • Good understanding of human anatomy, particularly in orthopaedics and cardiovascular domains 
  • Strong affinity with programming in Python; ability to understand, discuss, and assess technical implementations
  • Familiarity with data-driven products, AI/ML concepts, or custom software solutions is a strong advantage
  • Experience working in agile development environments; knowledge of SAFe is a plus

  • Strong stakeholder management skills, able to work across multiple teams and disciplines
  • Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to explain complex technical topics in a clear and convincing way
  • Customer-oriented with a natural commercial mindset

  • Enjoys acting as a technical reference and enabling others through knowledge sharing
