Then it’s you we're looking for to complete our team in the Materialise Medical Unit as a Device Development Engineer.

Job description

Starting from an idea or early concept, you will research market needs and translate them into verifiable product requirements. You will generate possible design solutions that fulfill those requirements and optimize them through safety and performance verification testing. Coupling that with incorporating feedback from potential users, i.e., surgeons or other healthcare professionals, you’ll arrive at a completely validated product that can be prepared for market launch.

What you will do

  • Define the scope of development projects in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
  • Improve existing medical devices and their related documentation
  • Perform verification testing of product performance and safety requirements
  • Perform validation testing of product needs
  • Report and document according to medical device standards and internal procedures
  • Transfer content to teams further along in the process, such as process engineering and regulatory
  • Actively contribute to regulatory submissions as a product specialist
  • Spot opportunities for new medical device applications and technologies
  • Translate medical device ideas into future development projects

Your profile

  • You have a Master’s degree in Science or Engineering (Mechanical, Biomechanical, or Product Design)
  • You pay attention to details
  • You are creative while still adhering to established frameworks and processes
  • You possess strong analytical skills and a curious mindset
  • You are committed to becoming a subject matter expert in various areas and are open to providing consultation in these areas to various teams within the organization
  • You can think in 3D and are proficient in 3D modeling
  • You have project management skills and can effectively divide your time over multiple projects at once
  • You have a fundamental understanding of anatomy
  • You are fluent in English, both verbal and written
