Refining and adjusting your 3D models is easy with Magics, and we'll show you how. In this video, you'll learn which simple tools you can use to help view, adjust, and refine your designs effortlessly.

Instructions

Using the mouse controls:

  • Click and hold the middle mouse button to move your part around the screen
  • Scroll the mouse wheel up to zoom out, and scroll the wheel down from you to zoom in
  • Click the right mouse button and drag your part to rotate
    Note: if the cursor is inside the rotation circle on the screen, you can rotate the part in any direction. If the cursor is outside the circle, you can only rotate in 2D.


Working with the view cube:

  • Move your mouse to the bottom right-hand corner of your screen and choose which surface of the cube you would like to see 
  • Click on a triangle next to the cube to rotate it in that direction by 90 degrees


Exploring the multisection tool:

  • Select the first icon (a cube) from the narrow pane on the right to select the multisection tool. This feature allows you to use predefined planes for each axis or create your own planes.
  • When you activate an axis, the corresponding plane appears in the part
  • You can hide areas up to the axis using the clipping feature and adjust the position of the plane using the slider


Customizing how your part looks on screen:

  • Select the cube (the sixth symbol) in the taskbar at the bottom of the screen to open the customization option 
  • You have the option to choose the triangle mesh display type or enable a transparent mode for your part
