Instructions

Home Screen options:

  1. Open Magics: the Home Screen will appear and display three categories — ‘Create new,’ ‘Options,’ and ‘Recent files.’

File management:

  1. To start a new project, select the appropriate scene from the ‘Create new’ category.
  2. To open an existing file, double-click on a recent file or use the ‘create new  choice..
  3. For Magics project files, use the ‘Load Project’ command to open files with the ‘.magics’ extension.

Choose a scene:

  1. Part Scene: for single parts or assemblies, choose between a Mesh Scene (STL files) or a BREP Scene (native CAD files).
    1. Mesh Scene: ideal for fixing and editing mesh files; however, be cautious with complex designs as the file size may increase.
    2. BREP Scene: use this for CAD-like editing with native formats like STEP files, allowing direct changes without generating triangles.
  2. Platform Scene: use the Platform Scene to prepare your build. Set the machine, load parts, position them, start nesting, or generate supports based on your 3D printing process.

Set default scenes:

  1. Configure a default project template for future builds under default scenes using the ‘New Project’.

By following these steps, you’ll navigate Magics efficiently and make the most of its scene-specific tools.
