Master Basic STL File Repair with Materialise Magics to Boost Printability

Description
When you master the basics of fixing files, you improve the printability of your parts and drive down scrap rates. In this tutorial, you'll explore common STL file errors and three methods to fix them in Magics.
Instructions
Automatic fixing
- Select the part, then click the ‘Part Fixing Info’ tab. Click the refresh button, indicated by an icon with two arrows in a circle, to check detailed information on the errors.
- Click 'AutoFix' in the 'Fix' ribbon.
- Refresh Part Fixing Info again to confirm that most errors have been fixed.
Semi-automatic and manual fixing
- Select the part, then click the ‘Part Fixing Info’ tab. Click the refresh button, indicated by an icon with two arrows in a circle, to check detailed information on the errors.
- Click the 'Follow' button to automatically fix each step until the remaining errors can no longer be fixed.
- To manually fix overlapping triangles, click the tool for fixing triangles, represented by an icon with a triangle and a wrench, and select 'Mark' in the 'Overlapping triangles' section.
- Click 'Move Part Points' in the 'Fix' ribbon, click a point of the triangle, and drag it to the right position.
- Check 'Part Fixing Info' again to confirm the error has been resolved.
