Instructions

Cropping the region of interest:

  • Navigate to the Segment tab and select the Dynamic Region Grow tool.
  • Drag the white boxes around your images to crop just your desired region.

Configuring segmentation parameters:

  1. Select the Fill cavities option if you'd like to fill any holes.
  2. Select the Multiple layer option to include all the layers in the dataset.
  3. Select the 2D preview to get a 2D preview based on your seed point while moving over the images.
  4. Observe the seed point value, which changes dynamically based on the pixel your cursor is currently hovering over.
  5. Set the deviation to define the range of gray values the tool will include. Use Advanced for specific upper and lower limits or Simple for an equidistant range.
  6. Adjust the Sensitivity value to keep the mask from growing out too far.

Generating the segmented mask:

  1. Click in the center of your target structure to see the preview in the 3D preview.
  2. Click on new points if more seed points are needed. The tool will recalculate with the previous points in account.
