Meet our other (future) innovators

Participation in the Future Innovators Day can lead to a position at Materialise. Below you can find the stories of two Materialise employees, who started their careers through this program.

Lauren Buyck is a Research Engineer in our Medical Unit. She likes that this job lets her be creative, and that for each project we dare to dream out loud.

“Having the opportunity during the Future Innovators Day to talk to people from several departments gave me more insight into the atmosphere of the company and the content of the different job opportunities. I noticed how driven and passionate everybody was about their job, which made me choose Materialise after graduation.

Every day we work towards an improvement or solution that seemed impossible to reach at first sight. I am part of a diverse team, where people convert their passion into action. It feels like we are a big team creating many innovative, top-notch products together.

Materialise encourages a work environment that is fun and that inspires employees to take joy in their work, which in turn inspires greater performance, creativity, and success.”

Dorien Schoofs is a Project Engineer in our Manufacturing Unit, who not only enjoys the work itself, but also enjoys getting to know her colleagues.

“The Future Innovators Day helped me gain insight into the passion and motivation of the people behind the company, and the possibilities that are offered to me as an electromechanical engineer. I was attracted by the general way of thinking, and the desire to innovate and cooperate, for a better and healthier world.

My team is composed of people with varying experiences and interests, which makes the daily job interesting. I can use my technical background, and learn new aspects of the 3D printing process every day.

There is a good work atmosphere, which makes the job not only interesting but also enjoyable. You don’t only get in touch with people through work-related meetings, but also by participating, for example, in sport activities that are organized both at Materialise and elsewhere.”
