The holiday season is upon us and it’s time to look back at the past year to see what we’ve accomplished and how far we’ve come. It was really tough to narrow down our favorite blog posts to just 10 – we’ve been lucky enough to have been involved in so many collaborations, technological innovations and inspirational stories – and we want to share the cream of the crop with you. Read on to discover our favorite stories of 2017!
Ms. Virginia Palacios, Director of Strategic Customer Engagement in the 3DP Business at HP, shares the key advantages of their multi fusion technology, how the industry can grow, what barriers we need to overcome together to transform the $12 trillion manufacturing industry and to change how the world designs and manufactures.
Been curious about HP’s new Multi Jet Fusion technology? For you, the wait is over. The most talked-about 3D printing technology of the day is now available via Materialise OnSite, our online quoting and ordering platform.
Materialise and HP are exploring the possibilities of voxel technology to produce parts that have different properties on a volume-level. Together we created a voxel-printed part that visualizes the stresses that would impact a metal part. The 3D model was printed at HP’s R&D facility and sets a first example for the industry.
The surface of Materialise engineer Giovanni Vleminckx’s desk is covered in stone-grey 3D prints. Gears, hinges, interlocking links, and the odd Yoda-like figurine. Meet the first test prints of the widely anticipated HP Jet Fusion 3D printer! Announced last autumn, the news of the HP Multi Jet Fusion technology quickly spread waves of excitement throughout the 3D printing world — and Materialise is privileged with prior access to the new technology. Giovanni, as a researcher and engineer in our production unit, got the opportunity to run frequent tests on the machine. Here’s what he thinks.
From 16 to 19 May, Materialise was present at RAPID, one of the largest Additive Manufacturing events in North America. There we gave presentations about 3D Printing for both medical and industrial purposes and introduced our Materialise Magics 3D Print Suite, which features all Materialise software (medical software excluded) wrapped in one suite.
