How to Review a Case in Materialise Mimics Flow

Instructions

Opening the online viewer:

  1. Access the platform by clicking the link in the email notification you receive when a case is shared with you.
  2. Enter your email and password to log in.
  3. View the case details and click 3D View to open the case.


Navigating the 3D model:

  1. Utilize the four viewports: three 2D views (coronal, axial, and sagittal) and one 3D viewport.
  2. Hover over a viewport and press the spacebar to maximize it for a more detailed view.
  3. Manage individual 3D parts listed on the right by using the eye button to show or hide them and the transparency button, represented by a cube icon, to toggle between opaque and transparent.
  4. Relate 3D orientation to 2D images by selecting a point on the model; all three 2D viewports will automatically update to that specific location.
  5. Control the 3D viewport using your mouse: right-click and drag to rotate, use the scrolling wheel to zoom, and press the wheel while dragging to pan the model.
  6. Click on the preset views at the top right of the window to jump to pre-configured views.


Performing measurements:

  1. Click on the Distance tool in the left toolbar, represented by a line with two arrows between two dots.
  2. Click and drag from one point on your model to another to measure the distance. Any measurement indicated on the 2D images will also appear on the 3D part.
  3. Click on the Angle tool in the left toolbar, represented by an angle with two arrows between.
  4. Indicate three points on the 2D images or 3D part to calculate the angle.
  5. Click on the Thickness tool in the left toolbar, represented by two lines with arrows on either side.
  6. Click a spot on your 3D model to get an automatic thickness calculation at a specific point.
  7. Click on the Plantar Angle tool in the left toolbar, represented by an oval icon with lines within.
  8. Indicate multiple locations on the 2D images or 3D part to define a region.
  9. Remove measurements with the Erase icon in the left toolbar.
  10. Hide or show measurements via the eye icon within the tab represented by the icon with a set square and a pencil.
  11. You can also perform measurements within the MPR (Multi-Planar Reconstruction) orientation, the top icon within the left toolbar.


Adding annotations and comments:

  1. Click the Annotation tool, represented by the A icon with a pencil, in the left toolbar to provide text annotations.
  2. Click the Sketch tool, represented by the fountain pen icon, in the left toolbar to provide basic sketches that illustrate basic instructions, such as where to cut.
  3. Save the project via the cloud icon in the top toolbar.
  4. Go Back to the Case Details page and leave any necessary remarks in the Comments tab. All stakeholders will receive a notification after you click Post comment.
