エアバスA350 XWB機は燃料消費を25%削減しながら乗客へ最大限の快適さを提供する、次世代航空機です。これらの改善点は、長距離フライトの頻度、距離共に上昇する現代旅行客のニーズに応えるというエアバス社の目標を反映したものです。最新のA350 XWB機にはシンプルさと頑丈さを兼ね備えた高度な最新システムが導入され、高い信頼性を確保しつつ整備用件は低く保つことを可能にしました。特にトポロジー最適化、機能の統合性の観点から積層造形がもたらす利点を考えると、こうした目標を達成すべくA350 XWB機の最終製品の一部が3Dプリンタで製作されていることは当然とも言えます。
