Description
Learn how to open and visualize a case that has been shared with you via Mimics Flow.
Instructions
Opening the online viewer:
- Access the platform by clicking the link in the email notification you receive when a case is shared with you.
- Enter your email and password to log in.
- View the case details and click 3D View to open the case.
Navigating the 3D model:
- Utilize the four viewports: three 2D views (coronal, axial, and sagittal) and one 3D viewport.
- Hover over a viewport and press the spacebar to maximize it for a more detailed view.
- Manage individual 3D parts listed on the right by using the eye button to show or hide them and the transparency button, represented by a cube icon, to toggle between opaque and transparent.
- Relate 3D orientation to 2D images by selecting a point on the model; all three 2D viewports will automatically update to that specific location.
- Control the 3D viewport using your mouse: right-click and drag to rotate, use the scrolling wheel to zoom, and press the wheel while dragging to pan the model.
- Click on the preset views at the top right of the window to jump to pre-configured views.
Performing measurements:
- Click on the Distance tool in the left toolbar, represented by a line with two arrows between two dots.
- Click and drag from one point on your model to another to measure the distance. Any measurement indicated on the 2D images will also appear on the 3D part.
- Click on the Angle tool in the left toolbar, represented by an angle with two arrows between.
- Indicate three points on the 2D images or 3D part to calculate the angle.
- Click on the Thickness tool in the left toolbar, represented by two lines with arrows on either side.
- Click a spot on your 3D model to get an automatic thickness calculation at a specific point.
- Click on the Plantar Angle tool in the left toolbar, represented by an oval icon with lines within.
- Indicate multiple locations on the 2D images or 3D part to define a region.
- Remove measurements with the Erase icon in the left toolbar.
- Hide or show measurements via the eye icon within the tab represented by the icon with a set square and a pencil.
- You can also perform measurements within the MPR (Multi-Planar Reconstruction) orientation, the top icon within the left toolbar.
Adding annotations and comments:
- Click the Annotation tool, represented by the A icon with a pencil, in the left toolbar to provide text annotations.
- Click the Sketch tool, represented by the fountain pen icon, in the left toolbar to provide basic sketches that illustrate basic instructions, such as where to cut.
- Save the project via the cloud icon in the top toolbar.
- Go Back to the Case Details page and leave any necessary remarks in the Comments tab. All stakeholders will receive a notification after you click Post comment.
