Indications

A skull with a PEEK implant fixated on it.

Cranial reconstruction implants

Restore cranial contours and support predictable reconstruction following trauma, defects, or tumor resection.

A front-facing skull with multiple midface and mandible PEEK implants fixated.

Onlay implants for cranial, midface, and mandible

Enhance symmetry, restore volume, and correct congenital or acquired deformities across the cranial, midface, and mandibular regions.

A front-facing skull with 3D-printed titanium implant for an orbital floor reconstruction.

Midface/orbital/mandible reconstruction implants

Recreate the orbital floor and walls, supporting functional recovery and restoration after trauma or tumor resection.

Freedom to choose. Confidence to perform.

Both titanium and PEEK integrate seamlessly into the Materialise CMF workflow. Each material offers unique benefits, allowing you to choose the most suitable option for every indication — without altering your workflow.

Comparison table of Porous 3D-Printed Titanium and Milled PEEK for medical use. Categories include:
Brief description: Titanium is strong, stable, versatile, supports complex geometries, offers high fitting accuracy, possible osteoconductive structures, and load-bearing capability. PEEK is a high-performance thermoplastic with bone-like behavior, smooth inert surface, low thermal sensitivity, and options for solid or perforated designs. Advantages: Titanium allows broad design freedom, excellent fit, high strength, porous structures, and stable fixation with self-drilling screws. PEEK offers radiolucency, smooth inert surface, lightweight comfort, intraoperative adjustment, and variable thickness for anatomy. Limitations: Titanium revisions may require more work and has no intraoperative trimming. PEEK has limited bone ongrowth, adjustments need extra effort, and may require added fixation.
Workflow fit: Both are fully integrated in the Materialise CMF workflow.
