Brief description: Titanium is strong, stable, versatile, supports complex geometries, offers high fitting accuracy, possible osteoconductive structures, and load-bearing capability. PEEK is a high-performance thermoplastic with bone-like behavior, smooth inert surface, low thermal sensitivity, and options for solid or perforated designs. Advantages: Titanium allows broad design freedom, excellent fit, high strength, porous structures, and stable fixation with self-drilling screws. PEEK offers radiolucency, smooth inert surface, lightweight comfort, intraoperative adjustment, and variable thickness for anatomy. Limitations: Titanium revisions may require more work and has no intraoperative trimming. PEEK has limited bone ongrowth, adjustments need extra effort, and may require added fixation.

A retrospective study on 11 patients with benign spheno-orbital tumors treated with personalized PEEK implants showed optimal implant positioning and improvement of exophthalmos in 89% of cases, with stable or improved neurological outcomes at 6 months.
