Test Engineer

We're looking for a test engineer who is passionate and dedicated to the production of medical quality applications. This position is for our OrthoView product, a software solutions orthopaedic surgeons use to identify critical measurements and implant specifications before joint replacement surgery.

What you will do

  • Define and execute the test strategy
  • Assess product requirements, create test plans and reports, write automated tests, and perform manual testing, checking for quality and accuracy
  • Introduce new technologies and evangelize the use of suitable ones within engineering
  • Lead, mentor, and support test team (3 members), and encourage other engineers in software quality techniques when in-depth knowledge is required
  • Make continuous process improvements happen
  • Assist with the creation of client proposals and forecast delivery milestones to stakeholders
  • Participate in the Community of Practices and exchange knowledge and experience with other development teams within Materialise Medical Unit

Your profile

  • At least five years of experience in commercial software testing
  • Proven two years experience as a Test Lead/Test Manager with experience mentoring 2+ test engineers
  • Strong leadership skills
  • A strong team ethic and desire to succeed
  • Customer-oriented thinking
  • Knowledge of best practice software engineering processes and techniques
  • A challenging and enquiring mind
  • Experience with auto-testing
  • Attention to detail and tenacity
  • Experience working in agile environments
  • Exposure to a variety of testing techniques and tools is preferable
  • Experience in testing desktop applications is preferable
  • Testing within regulated environments such as the medical or aerospace industry is preferable
  • Development skills to produce bespoke test tools and utilities, as required, is preferable
  • BDD/TDD experience is preferable
  • CI/CD experience is a plus
  • Experience with performance testing tools is a plus
  • Experience with Java or another (object-oriented) programming language is a plus
  • Knowledge of DICOM or Image Processing applications is a plus
  • Ideally, the candidate will have a software engineering, mathematical, or scientific-based degree.
