Payroll/Benefits Specialist
Materialise USA is seeking an experienced Payroll/Benefits Specialist to join our team in Plymouth, MI. The Payroll/Benefits Specialist will be responsible for processing payroll, administering employee benefits, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. The ideal candidate will have 5 years of experience in payroll processing, ADP software experience, and multi-state payroll experience. Workday experience is preferred. The role will involve 70% of time spent on payroll/HRIS, 15% on benefit administration, and 15% on general HR responsibilities.
What you will do
- Process payroll accurately and timely for multiple states
- Maintain employee payroll records and ensure they are accurate and up-to-date
- Maintain and update employee data within the HRIS system
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, benefits, and related issues
- Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations related to payroll
- Stay current on changes in payroll laws and regulations
- Reconcile payroll and resolve any discrepancies
- Administer employee benefits including health, dental, vision, 401(k), and other benefits programs
- Coordinate with benefits vendors to ensure accurate and timely enrollment and changes
- Ensure compliance with benefit plan documents and regulations
- Assist with HR generalist tasks as assigned
- Work closely with the finance team to ensure accurate and timely reporting
- Ensure compliance with Materialise's internal SOX controls
- Provide excellent customer service to employees and management
Your profile
- 5+ years of experience in payroll processing
- Strong knowledge of ADP software required, Workday experience preferred
- Experience in a multi-state environment required
- SOX compliance experience preferred
- Mergers and acquisition experience preferred
- Bachelor's degree in related field preferred, but not required
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
