DLP Research Engineer

Profile:

  • As a DLP application engineer, you are responsible for DLP research projects from start to end that support the Materialise business worldwide. These projects are typically a combination of hardware and software research for dedicated applications.
  • You work closely together with the DLP application engineer, sales application engineers and stakeholders worldwide.
  • You are able to initiate and execute research projects but always with the mind-set of bridging the gap with the business in an effective and efficient way. This means that projects needs to be defined in such a way that as soon as possible results can be transferred to the market and create business value for Materialise.
  • You are skilled in engineering analysis and have a good understanding of product and process validation. You have an analytical mind and critical way of thinking. You are systematic and perseverant.
  • You have a genuine interest in 3D printing technology and market evolutions and are eager to share your knowledge within Materialise to support the business worldwide.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Delivery of high quality DLP research projects (planning, execution and reporting)
  • Transfer of research results to business solutions
  • Product and process validation
  • Contributing to DLP CC strategy and year plans, spotting short-term and long-term business opportunities within the DLP market and in alignment with the year plans of the business units

Requirements:

  • Master Degree or PhD in mechanical engineering who is passionate in research job with business mindset or Bachelor Degree with at least 3 years’ experience in research environment.
  • Experience in research environment is a MUST
  • Experience and knowledge on 3D printing technology is definitely a plus
  • Basic knowledge of CAD, FEA or 3D measurements is a plus
  • Good knowledge in Microsoft Office
  • Good oral and written communication skills in English is essential
  • Customer and business-oriented mindset
