The Research Team within the Medical Business unit develops next generation pre-op planning and image processing applications that may impact our current product portfolio by evaluating emerging technologies and through lean software prototyping.

Senior Research Engineer / Research Project Manager

  • You will manage and inspire the Biomechanical modelling team and support them in executing both internal and external (funded) research projects.
  • You are responsible for developing the research project portfolio matching the product roadmaps and for the implementation of new ideas for innovations through lean software prototyping.
  • When required, you will write grant applications to fund new research projects.
  • You will further develop and support the maintenance of the medPy software prototyping framework that is used in the research team.
  • You are a strong networker and will develop and maintain relationships with Universities.

  • Technology watch: You constantly maintain an overview of the technology landscape in its broadest sense allowing yourself to apply and use new technologies where needed. 
  • A good knowledge of python for developing software prototype is required.
  • Previous working experience on biomechanical modeling for knee and hip applications is a strong plus
