You are responsible to capture the IT system needs of your unit, to quantify their value to the unit in order to, in collaboration with other IT business partners and the IT architecture team, translate these needs in the Materialise IT Systems Roadmap. You are also responsible for requirements management within projects as well as change request management for released IT systems.


IT Business Partner


  • You are responsible to capture the mid and long term IT needs of the unit based on a profound understanding of the unit’s strategy and operational efficiency needs.
  • In collaboration with other IT business partners and the IT architecture team, you translate your unit’s needs in the Materialise IT Systems Roadmap
  • Therefore, you perform the business analysis within your unit supported by the business process architect within IT and
  • You evaluate the business needs with the IT architecture team to assess their feasibility and required implementation time and effort.
  • You reside in the IT Change Advisory Board to advocate, based on the unit’s strategy and cost/benefit ratio, for change request submitted by the unit.
  • You approve the functional design specifications on behalf of your unit
  • You organize user acceptance testing and validation within your unit
  • You accept the delivered applications on behalf of your unit
  • You represent your unit in Steering Committees of ongoing IT projects to ensure that decisions are in line with your unit’s strategy
  • You are the voice of the unit towards IT up to the CIO level.



  • At least 5 years of experience in a similar position
  • Broad knowledge and solid understanding of IT infrastructure and applications
  • Able to translate business needs in specifications
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Decisive, structured and strategical thinker
  • Natural leader, ability to have an impact without hierarchical link
  • Hands-on, eager to learn with a positive can-do attitude.
