What does Materialise have in common with UPS? One thing is that they both have the same problem-solving attitude like in this commercial where UPS asks companies to bring “your sticky notes, sketch books, scribbles” to solve problems. This sentiment is shown in UPS’s latest commercial, released yesterday as seen here:

If you watch closely enough, you can even see Hannes Ramaekers from our production team working on the Patrick Jouin-designed Bloom table lamp from the .MGX by Materialise collection.

Bloom lamp MGX

Printed as a single piece, the Bloom table lamp has a collapsing and expanding shade which releases or contains light. Besides the recognition from this ad, the table lamp has won numerous design awards and has been acquired by world-renowned museums. In the ad you can catch a glimpse of the steps it took to create the lamp, from our Magics software to 3D print to the finishing touches, and finally delivered to end users by UPS.

As problem solvers, Materialise offers co-creation sessions to turn great ideas into meaningful innovations. Find out more about Design and Engineering Services on our webpage for the Factory for 3D Printing!
