We’ve already given you a behind the scenes of our offices on many continents: Asia, Europe and North America. Now it’s time we show you an office in South America. We are pleased to introduce you to Materialise Colombia.
The Colombian office has a passion for medical visualization software and 3D printing applications. The team is working hard to show and teach those in South America about biomedical engineering software such as the Mimics Innovation Suite, so that more people can experience the benefits of Engineering on Anatomy. This team provides services and tech support all the way from Mexico to Patagonia. If a researcher, engineer, hospital interventionist, or anyone else in the biomedical field would like to use Mimics or 3-matic for a specific application but does not have sufficient need to buy the software, this team will also help them on a case-by-case service basis.
Also, quite a few members of the team work on cranio-maxillofacial applications through Materialise’s brand OBL. These clinical engineers work closely together with the surgeon to plan complex CMF cases. They also design patient-specific cranial implants for Latin America, Colombia and Chile. These clinical engineering services allow clinicians to plan their surgeries in advance, testing out different surgical approaches, and to order a custom 3D-printed implant for cranio-maxillofacial surgeries, such as a skull implant like this:
A New Office: Moving from Venezuela to Colombia
Our Colombian office recently moved offices and held an official office opening ceremony on March 18th. Prior to this, the office was based in Venezuela, one of Colombia’s neighboring countries. To celebrate this move, the office held an opening ceremony where over 80 invited guests came to hear presentations and enjoy a nice reception. Take a look at some photos to get a glimpse of the celebration: Materialise truly has a global presence. To find a Materialise office near you, check out our contact and locations page.
