Materialise combines functionality and finish in new dredge pump show model
Materialise was instrumental in helping shipbuilding giant IHC Merwede to present its new dredge pump design – in action -- at the Europort Maritime fair in Rotterdam. It was the first project in which Materialise delivered automated functionality in a product, complete with a beautiful surface finish.
Waste compactor invention presented in Norwegian TV show by means of Materialise prototypes
Arvid Johannesen, Vik-Sandvik IDE and Materialise partnered up for the development of a waste compactor that compresses the contents of a standard-sized trash bin and was one of the inventions presented in the Norwegian “Skaperen” show.
Impressive material range: A solution for each application
Puzzled which material you should choose? Materialise has such an extensive material & technology range that we can imagine you sometimes can’t see the wood for the trees. Let’s go through the benefits of each material once again in an overview of our primary material range.
The Brani® of OrangTiga
Mostly made of brown or black leather, with a medieval buckle closure system with pin and holes... probably the least exciting consumer product you can think of is the traditional belt. The Orang Tiga company now introduces the Brani®, a revolution in the waistware category. A unique product, resulting from a successful collaboration with Materialise which supported the entire development process.
Materialise contributes to Lewis Hamilton's bike
BERU f1systems proudly presented a prototype of their revolutionary Factor 001 bike to F1 legend Lewis Hamilton at the British Driver’s club awards. Materialise, leader in rapid prototyping and manufacturing (RP&M) solutions, produced the visual prototype for BERU f1systems using their patented Mammoth stereolithography and selective laser sintering machines to create a model which was fully representative of the final production bike.
FDM versus Selective Laser Sintering
How to make sure your prototype is truly functional? There are still plenty of misconceptions with FDM, mainly because people are not yet familiar with all its capabilities. We notice that our customers often order their prototypes in selective laser sintering while in fact they should be ordering fused deposition modelling parts.
A custom-made solution: you have an idea, we realise it
Agecom is a Belgian company dealing with guest amenities and specialised in the development of hotel accessories. Founder and Managing Director, Mr. Philippe Debnicki, in 2005, designed a clever dispensing system for shower gel, in the form of a handy device that would be fixed into hotel showers.
500 sets of a medical device
"The design of medical appliances is a very delicate matter and has to be verified several times with doctors and patients. Single-piece prototypes come in very handy then. We need the support of experts like Materialise to accomplish our projects in a successful way."
Prototyped BMW Mini Cooper
Materialise pulled the sheet on a prototyped car that shows the unique solutions its Industrial Services & Software divisions can provide by joining forces. Being active in both the software and the rapid prototyping field gives Materialise the advantage to offer advanced, tailor-made solutions.
