Measuring and controlling top-quality components

We have a continual drive to treat your prototypes as real production parts. The scanning & measurement services allow us to integrate full dimensional quality control and inspection in our Rapid Prototyping and Manufacturing business processes. With regard to prototyping, you receive on demand custom-made measuring reports together with your product. As the critical dimensions and features (e.g. CMM inspection points) are indicated, you gain a better view on the quality of your design and are able to carry out necessary changes efficiently. Rapid Manufacturing parts are 100% inspected and accompanied with standardised measurement reports. In addition, you can always ask for detailed and customised measurement services.

From product to file

The ATOS system

You have a product that you would like to duplicate but you are missing the original data. The product you designed shows inaccuracies, which you quickly want to detect and adjust. You possess a precious art piece that you want to store for future generations. For these particular cases and many more, the Materialise scanning and measurement services provide a complete solution. The ATOS II system allows us to digitise whatever components you have in mind. They are turned into STL-file formats in an accurate and cost-efficient way. This digital information can then be analysed, adjusted, stored, or used to create a new component. Our internally developed 3-matic software provides the advantage of going straight from scanned or CAD data to analysis and other CAE applications and consequently saves significant amounts of time.

Digitising range from 10 mm to 10 m

All parts from tiny connectors to cars can be easily digitised and measured

In addition to our ATOS II system we have also an SO (“Small Object”) setup, by which it is possible to digitise objects measuring less than 10mm. This system is mainly used for small complex parts with high demands on accuracy and data quality. With point distances of less than 0.02 mm even the smallest details can be measured. For larger parts, up to 10m, the GOM TRITOP system is utilised. TRITOP is an optical coordinate measuring machine used for CADcompare or for the creation of an accurate virtual framework on large or complex objects to support high accuracy digitising using the ATOS 3D digitiser.

Prime performance

Materialise houses the latest precision instruments in order to offer you a complete and professional scanning and measurement service. We will advise you on the most appropriate method according to the nature of your object and the expected results. To maximise the quality and efficiency the devices are installed in an optimally conditioned measurement room.
