OnSite is your online access to Materialise's Sales and Production information network :
Via secured web pages, you are able to follow up on your Materialise projects, get quotes, place online orders, track your shipments and orders, visit our shopfloor and go into meeting. These web pages have been operational since the 18th of June 2004 at www.materialise.com/onsite and will continue to be updated as we go along.
While OnSite gives the customer the ideal tool to get online information on ongoing projects and gives high reactivity on quotation and order handling, it allows our project engineers to focus on looking for the ideal prototyping and tooling solutions.
Materialise OnSite is an ONLINE service that aims at bringing Materialise and its services ON SITE, to act as an internal department for the customer. Through the WEBSITE Materialise comes closer to the customer. This service has been developed in such a way that your desktop becomes your window to the prototyping of your products. You can even take a look INSIDE the Materialise premises.
OnSite is constantly being updated.
The site will offer you more and more services as we go along, striving to be as useful as possible for you. The OnSite team welcomes suggestions that could help us improve OnSite and help you increase your productivity.
The following minimal software requirements must be met:
- Operating System: Microsoft Windows Me, NT, 2000, XP 32/64-bit and newer
- Browser: Internet Explorer 5.5 or newer version with enabled:
-JavaScript,
- ActiveX,
- Cookies. - The PC user must have an account with installation rights.
You have to register at the OnSite home page www.materialise.com/onsite: here you create your own OnSite login and password. They give you immediate access to the private area.
Yes, you can. Nevertheless, we advise you to use the STL File Analyzer plugin in order to be able to benefit from all the OnSite features.
You simply send your account manager an e-mail, requesting him to deactivate your account. He will deactivate it and you will receive a notification by e-mail.
You can ask for your password through the OnSite menu ‘My account...>login>forgotten my password' or at the home page in the login section. Your password and login will be sent to you immediately.
You only need to login once to have access to OnSite. If you do not use the OnSite pages during a period of 20 minutes or longer, you are asked to login again for security reasons.
There are 3 ways to quote online and place an OnSite order, using:
- Internet Explorer 5.5 or newer + STL File Analyzer
The STL File Analyzer is the most advisable option. It is a small piece of software that inspects STL files and allows secure quotations. We recommend using it to benefit from the latest OnSite features.
The STL File Analyzer Software plugin installation is offered as soon as you come to the quotation pages (only when it is not yet installed on your PC). - Next Day Application This is a conventional way of part ordering inherited from the Next Day service. The more conservative customers are still able to place orders using the Next Day Application, though we do encourage them to try our latest STL File Analyzer implementation described above.
- Internet Explorer 5.5 or newer (Manual Quotations Only) If for some reason, the STL File Analyzer or the Next Day Application are unavailable to you, you will still be able to place an order by uploading your files to us for a Manual Quotation.
This is not possible yet.
For now, only our primary technologies (Next Day SLA, standard SLA, SLS, Polyjet & FDM) are available online.
However, OnSite allows you to post a request for the other technologies as well; somebody from the Materialise team will then send you the corresponding quotation.
Yes. You get a 10% discount when you order online. The OnSite system generates the price of the prototypes within seconds and automatically deducts 10% from the standard quoted price.
We have to verify whether you are the person you claim to be.
After creating your login and password and registering, a request to activate your OnSite account is sent to us. Your account manager will examine this request and send you an e-mail. By replying to this e-mail, you confirm your request. Then, the account manager actually allows you to see the orders every time you logon.
Once you have completed the activation procedure, you don't need to repeat it every time you go online.
No. Once your account is activated, you will see all your outstanding Materialise quotes and orders.
No. Unless you know his/her login and password and his/her account is activated.
No. At this very moment, OnSite is only showing information about the orders so that you can follow-up the status of it.
When your part is finished you can request a meeting prior to shipment. Your project manager will provide you with a secret code to gain exclusive access to the meeting room. Through a secured camera, positioned inside the meeting room, you can check your part closely while discussing with your project manager.
No one else will be able to see the images that the webcam is shooting. The live images are not recorded. Once you have seen them, we can not replay them.
- We have installed 3 cameras inside the Materialise-building: in the hall, showing the reception – in the SLA-room, showing the stereolithography machines – in the FDM Center, showing the Fused Deposition Modelling machines.
- The website shows live images from 8.30 am until 6pm CET.
- All webcams are positioned in such a way that they comply with our confidentiality agreement. The cameras on the shopfloor are switched off when parts are lifted out of the machines.
To save bandwidth you will see 30 seconds of images that will be refreshed every 3 minutes.
When the streaming is finished, you should close the window and reopen it after 3 minutes to view another 30 seconds of live images.
