The left-hand column of the Open Project Dialog Box contains your list of "Favorite" folders and removable-media disk locations from where patient studies are retrieved. The folder at the top of the column will be the folder that SimPlant automatically opens.
By default the Open Project Dialog opens in the Project View. This view lists the studies from your "Favorite" folder together with the study information. To switch to the Browse View click on the 'Switch View' Button . The Browse view will enable you to browse faster to different folders, however the patient information will not be displayed in this view, only the file name.
To add a folder to the list of Favorites, select the folder and click on the 'Add Favorite' button .You can adjust the order of the file folders in the Favorites column by using a left-mouse drag.
To open a study from CD, place the CD in your CD-ROM drive. Choose File | Open Project from within SimPlant . In your Favorites column (left-hand side of the Open Project Dialog Box), there will be an icon for your CD-ROM drive. Click on the drive and the software will display the patient studies from the CD. Highlight the study you want to view and choose Open. To save the patient study onto your hard drive, with other patient files, choose File | Save or File | Save As from the menu and rename the file with the patient's last and first names.
The default file location for saving studies, which have previously been retrieved from CD, is the file folder at the top of your Favorites column in the Open Project Dialog Box.
Each plan can be locked to prevent making accidental changes to a plan. When a plan is locked it cannot be changed anymore. Plans can be locked and unlocked by any user at any time in the Plan menu or the Plan Overview window.
Open SimPlant and the patient you want to view. Choose Plan from the menu bar. At the bottom, you will see all the plans which have been created for that patient study. Choose the plan you wish to view and it will be displayed.
