When I open SimPlant, I get the message: "There are no manufacturer files..."?
When I launch SimPlant, I get the message: "License server outdated / faulted"?
If you want to get started as soons as possible, you can simply download the latest version of SimPlant from our website and start today. Don’t forget to download the implant libraries as well, since these require a separate installation.
For a smooth installation, have your CCKey and the corresponding System ID available. The CCkey is listed in your Certificate of Authenticity.
To get SimPlant running on your computer, please follow these steps:
- Download SimPlant and the Implant Libraries from one of our servers.
- Double-click on the ‘SimPlant Setup’ to start the installation wizard.
- Follow the wizard to finish the installation of SimPlant.
- Double-click on the ‘Implant Library Setup’.
- Follow the wizard to finish the installation of the Implant Libraries.
- After these installations, restart your computer.
- Run the software via the shortcut on your desktop or via Start | Programs | Materialise Software
- To install SimPlant, close all other programs.
- Put the DVD in the drive, the installation will start automatically.
Choose the flag for the correct language. - Click 'Install Full licensed version'
- Select the SimPlant flavour you bought: SimPlant Planner, SimPlant Pro or SimPlant Master.
- Follow the Install Wizard and accept the default settings by choosing “Yes” or “Next”.
- Enter your CCKey during the installation when asked. This allows SimPlant to request new passwords automatically when needed.
- When the SimPlant software is installed, there is a pause before the Implant Library installation begins. Please wait.
- For Implant Library installation, accept the default setting. When prompted, choose the Implant Libraries for the implant manufacturers you use most frequently. Those implants will be placed in your “Favorites” folder, while all other manufacturers will be installed in the "Library" folder.
- Reboot your computer when asked.
The first time you launch the software, the registration dialog (password request wizard) will appear.
- If you have a CCKey you can choose the option "From now on, contact the Materialise password server automatically to obtain passwords".
- If you don't have a CCKey you can choose the option
"I want to ask for, and enter passwords manually"
After registration you can close the registration dialog to start Simplant.
Option 1: Go to “My Computer” and double click on the DVD icon. The CD should AutoPlay.
Option 2: Go to “My Computer” and RIGHT-CLICK on the DVD icon and choose Autoplay. The CD should AutoPlay.
Option 3: Go to “My Computer” and RIGHT-CLICK on the DVD icon. Choose OPEN. Double click on Install_Simplant_Planner_English.bat (or Install_Simplant_Pro_English.bat if you are a SimPlant PRO user).
During installation SimPlant will find your previously loaded studies. All studies will be kept. If in a previous version of SimPlant you had a favorite folder e.g. C:/DentalData, the new version of SimPlant will keep this as your favorite folder.
General information :
The licenses for a floating license server are stored on a central computer somewhere in the network. This computer has a floating license server installed to manage all the licenses available on the network. When a session of SimPlant is started on a local pc, SimPlant will contact the floating license server via the network. If there is a license available, the floating license server will assign it to the local pc allowing SimPlant to open.
On the server computer you have to install the floating license application. The installer is located on the DVD of SimPlant. You don't need to install this application on the local computers who are going to use the floating license.
After the installation on the server you have to launch this application to add a floating license. You can find this application in 'Start' - 'Programs' - 'Materialise Software' - 'License administrator'.
The first thing that you should do if you want to add a license is to select the right server. Press the 'select' button and choose 'This computer' 'floating. After selecting the right server, you have to enter the floating password that you received and press 'add license'.
The floating license server is now running. Install SimPlant on all local computers who are going to use this floating license.
Afterwards, when you want to register the local computers with this floating license:
- Launch the password request wizard, you can do that by starting SimPlant. If it doesn't appear automatically go to 'options' - 'password request wizard'.
- I want to use a floating license
- Add the floating license server by entering the IP adress and Port number (you can find this information in the license administrator application)
The CCKey and System ID are used in combination and stay linked in the Materialise Dental database. For on-line password generation, CCKey and corresponding System ID have to match.
The CCKey is a unique identifier for your software license. When you filled in the CCKey during the installation of the software or afterwards, the software can generate new passwords automatically when needed. Of course this will only be done with your permission. You can also use the CCKey to generate your own passwords with our on-line password generation system.
Since the introduction of realistic implants, you need to install the Implant Libraries separately. Download the Implant Libraries from our website and double click on the installation file to start the installation wizard. After the installation of the Implant Libraries you're able to make your planning with a realistic 3D representation of your favorite implant.
This problem is caused by an outdated or corrupted version of the local license server. It can be caused by a previous installation of SimPlant (for example version 9 or 10).
Solution:
- Reboot your computer, and check if the problem is still present. In that case, proceed to step 2.
- Uninstall SimPlant
- Manually delete the local license server, by deleten the folder
'c:\program files\common files\materialise\licensefiles' - Install SimPlant again
