Jiri Evenhuis

Jiri Evenhuis was born in 1973 in Amsterdam and graduated from the Amsterdam Gerrit Rietveld Academy in 2000 as an industrial designer. Since then he is working as an independent product designer and interior architect.
He designed a variety of products amongst which are a series of lamps for the Spanish label 'Perfect Day', designed chairs, tiles, fashion accessories and had several publications with his dildo concepts. He made complete interiors for offices, private houses and night-clubs. In all his work he is showing a strong passionate and personal approach. In the late 90's he invented the first ever 3D printable cloth (pat. pending) developed together with Janne Kyttanen. In the summer of 2002 they founded Freedom of Creation in its current form, a design research company and platform that develops concepts and products made with 3D printing technologies. They do this together with the aid of Materialise, the European leader in rapid prototyping. The first outcomes of this collaboration were lamps shown at The Salone Internationale del Mobile in 2003 in Milan.
