Improved Dr. James in SimPlant 10.06
Dr. James, the Virtual Planning Assistant, was launched in SimPlant Version 10.0 earlier this year. The Dr. James tool has been successfully used in many practices to give a start to the planning process. With the introduction of SimPlant version 10.06 the virtual planning assistant has been improved to make better planning decisions. Dr James now plans with angulated abutments, significantly expanding the treatment options.
In Version 10.06, ; the user will indicate the maximum angle for angulated abutments (Figure 4) which Dr James can use. Dr. James starts planning an acceptable implant placement by considering the prosthetic element. The red line in Figure 5 indicates the optimal location for the trajectory of the abutment. The green lines on the images show the optimal position of the implant, based on bone availability. Dr. James determines the best abutment-implant combination and presents the completed plan in 2D and 3D. SimPlant Planner is the only software to offer a virtual planning assistant. Take advantage of Dr. James' time saving features to establish the initial placement of the implants.
