RSM 4.0
Materialise is proud to announce the release of the 4th generation of its Rapid Shell Modeling (RSM) software. With the new release, Materialise has advanced this ingenious software to the next level of innovation. RSM 4.0 introduces comprehensive binaural modeling and represents major enhancements to the user interface and its "In The Ear" (ITE) modeling functionality. The key innovation, however, is the capability to automatically design earmolds and hearing protection devices.
RSM 4: particularly user-intuitive, with the potential for even more efficient operation
The new EarmoldCreator module expands the software's application scope to encompass "Behind The Ear" (BTE) hearing aids and the hearing protection market. It's the finishing touch for the RSM product line, designed to meet the growing demand for affordable earmold design software. Like RSM's ITE shell design, the EarmoldCreator module offers the operator complete design freedom through its variety of modeling tools. The software's wizard structure guides the operator step-by-step. It provides design automation through the creation of parameters.
Martin Roth, Phonak AG, who has been actively involved in the development of RSM 4, comments:

Highlights of RSM 4.0 are:
- Upgraded, clearly organized user interface, resulting in increased user-friendliness and efficiency
- Spaceball View Manipulation support, allowing simultaneous manipulation of the shell and positioning of the electronics
- Binaural modeling dramatically increases design speed by applying all operations on both the left and right ear shell simultaneously, guaranteeing an optimal symmetry
- The new EarmoldCreator module enables sophisticated modeling of earmolds
- The "Align&Compare" feature incorporates new functionality, supporting various verification and quality control tasks
