Materialise contributes to Pininfarina Sintesi concept car
At the 78th International Motor Show in Geneva, Pininfarina presented the Sintesi, a new concept car that explores ideas and solutions for the car of the future. It is the first time in history that additive technologies play such a prominent role in a concept car project.
Prototyped BMW Mini Cooper
Materialise pulled the sheet on a prototyped car that shows the unique solutions its Industrial Services & Software divisions can provide by joining forces. Being active in both the software and the rapid prototyping field gives Materialise the advantage to offer advanced, tailor-made solutions.
Impressive material range: A solution for each application
Puzzled which material you should choose? Materialise has such an extensive material & technology range that we can imagine you sometimes can’t see the wood for the trees. Let’s go through the benefits of each material once again in an overview of our primary material range.
Automotive testimony: Perfect bumper match
Plastic Omnium Auto Exterior is a global leader in the design and manufacture of bumpers, fenders, body panels and body modules. At the 2003 Frankfurt show Plastic Omnium introduced an entirely new concept of fixing headlights onto the bumper instead of onto the vehicle. This project was taken to the next step in 2004. The project leaders needed a bumper skin that could be assembled with this new concept in order to be able to present it to different automotive manufacturers.
A mythic story...
A remarkable statue is standing in the hall of the Materialise headquarters in Leuven, attracting attention of anyone entering the building. It is a reproduction in stereolithography of the ancient Greek Kouros sculpture with a length of almost 6 feet.
One for the road!
Renault Trucks has been a loyal Materialise customer for several years now, particularly the Cabin Research Department which internally utilises rapid prototyping technologies (e.g. SLA, RIM, vacuum casting). Many development projects have been realised with the help of the Materialise RP technology range.
