Materialise Dental launches the Dual Scan Package

The Dual Scan Package consists of the Dual Scan Module and a number of sample products to prepare patients for swift esthetic and prosthetic driven computer guided surgery. The main goal is to offer SimPlant® users an integrated solution for prosthetic driven planning, to be completed in-house and in just one visit.

Dual Scan Module

The Dual Scan Module automatically loads the prosthetic information into SimPlant® allowing clinicians to plan implants even more accurately.

The Dual Scan Module is available for SimPlant® Pro and SimPlant® Master. It provides for a quick and inexpensive procedure for all implant cases when an existing prosthesis is available. No need for a special lab-made template. It is sufficient to insert 8 equally distributed Dual Scan Markers available from Materialise Dental into an existing prosthesis free of metal.
With the Dual Scan Module, two scans are taken: one scan of the patient wearing the prosthesis and a bite index, and one scan of the prosthesis. The Dual Scan Module is ideally suited for cone-beam 3D scanners from a practical point of view, but can of course also be applied when using CT scanning equipment.

Sample products and user guidelines

A variety of sample products are used to convert an existing conventional resin prosthesis into a scan prosthesis and to prepare the patient for the scanning procedure – all in-house and in just one visit.

Specifically, all necessary dental products – offered as an example of suitable products – needed to fabricate a bite index, reline an existing prosthesis, integrate Dual Scan Markers and take an accurate impression are delivered together with the Dual Scan Module. Last but not least, concise user guidelines are also provided to speed up preparations.
