Fast preparation of complex geometry for FEA and CFD purposes
Surface meshes generated from scanned components or STL models often contain highly skewed triangles. Such triangulation effectively prevents the creation of a good volume mesh. Using 3-matic software for mesh optimization enables you to modify surface meshes quickly and easily, conforming them to the conditions required by CFD or FEA software.
The Remesh module provides you with a variety of advanced tools for automated surface mesh generation, mesh optimization, full control over the resulting mesh density and export of meshes to Fluent, ABAQUS, ANSYS, Nastran, Patran, and other CFD and FEA systems.

Mesh optimization is essential to obtain reliable, accurate simulations and analysis results. Using Remesh technology, you can save weeks in file preparation, especially when scanned or complex data is involved.

Creation of optimally skewed surface meshes
3-matic’s highly automated re-mesh technology for mesh optimization enables you to produce an optimally skewed surface mesh for FEA or CFD:
- Full re-meshing (from arbitrarily bad-quality triangle mesh to good-quality triangle mesh)
- Mesh coarsening and mesh refining (globally and locally)
- Element size growth control (= degree of transition from small elements to large elements)
- Smoothing
- Series of advanced inspection tools (non-manifold edges, sharp geometry, self-intersections, wall thickness, etc.)
- Wrapping for gap filling and de-featuring
