Import Modules

Thanks to 3-matic's variety of import modules, you can treat all data uniformly, achieving fast, accurate results. 3-matic cuts the time necessary for combining surfaces from different sources into one file. Combining CAD and scanned surfaces (in STL) in the same CAD format would normally require reverse engineering. 3-matic, however, eliminates that process for you and allows you to work directly on different formats.

When importing a CAD file, 3-matic also loads the original surface structure.

You can import any of the below formats, fix the resulting file quickly with the highly advanced functionality

You can indicate the accuracy of the conversion applied on the entire model: the smaller the tolerance, the more closely the STL file will approach the curves etc. of the original model.
Furthermore you have control over the triangulation (by indicating the maximum edge length).

High precision CAD conversion without increasing file size unnecessarily Interactive CAD import

3-matic offers an additional module to impose precisions depending on the surfaces. A-surfaces or visible surfaces can be imported with high precision, while B-surfaces can be defined with a lower precision. The result is a model that is precise where it needs to be without unnecessarily increasing the model size.
