What is the difference between a dental scan guideline and an export protocol?

What cone beam or dental CT scanner models are compatible with SimPlant dental practice software?

SimPlant dental surgery software uses Dicom compatible data sets or images.  Most of the cone-beam and dental CT scanner models can create images in the dicom format and can be used in combination with our different software solutions.

How can we get the best image quality for use with SimPlant dental 3D software?

A Dicom compatible image does not necessarily mean that an optimal image is available. The quality of an image depends in the first place on the correct use of the dental scanner. Clinical dental scan guidelines are provided by the dental scan manufacturer and should be used correctly at all times.

For cone-beam 3D dental scanners the creation of dicom compatible images can further enhance the quality. Together with the listed manufacturers on this website, we elaborate export protocols that provide you with the optimal image quality setting for SimPlant dental 3D software. You can download the export protocols in the export protocol section or by clicking here.

What is the difference between a dental scan guideline and an export protocol?

A scan protocol provides clinical dental scan guidelines for positioning and scanning the patient correctly for use with our different software solutions.

The export protocol provides you the settings that optimize and/or automate the dicom creation process for cone-beam dental scanners. It ensures optimal image quality.
