Mimics 13.1 out now!

Mimics 13.1: another leap forward in 3D image processing

“To measure is to know”. That’s why this new Mimics release focuses on new tools to improve measurements. The more precise your measurement, the more knowledge you gain!

Real-time re-slicing in any possible direction

An aorta, re-sliced through the aortic valve for better visualization of the three leaflets in the axial view

In Mimics 13.1 we proudly introduce a new re-slicing possibility that allows you to reorient your dataset in any arbitrary direction. This comes in very handy for visualizing, segmenting and measuring off-axis structures that were time-consuming to represent in the past. As a result, you can visualize the invisible faster and measure structures more easily and accurately.

More measurements, more accuracy, more knowledge

With a number of new measurements (diameter, centerline circumference and centerline sectional area) and extended functionality on the distance-over-surface tool (set multiple points), you can measure…virtually…everything.

3D LiveWire made more user-friendly

Indicate points in the 3D LiveWire and move them afterwards if necessary

This new Mimics release takes the 3D LiveWire tool, introduced in Mimics 13, to a higher level. Based on user feedback, we improved its workability. Saving the contours and having the possibility to move the points you set with the 3D LiveWire, will help you in creating faster, more accurate (soft-tissue) segmentations.

Small innovations that make your life easier:

  • New smart algorithm reduces noise effectively upon import from CBCT
  • Since µCT scanners export often to the space-saving JPEG format, it’s possible now to import these JPEG files.
  • Visualization of the coordinate system makes working in 3D more intuitive.

Constantly striving to serve you even better

Our second release of 2009 demonstrates once again our commitment to optimize Mimics as a tool for facilitating and improving your research. We greatly appreciate suggestions from our valued customers, which give us insight to making Mimics the most comprehensive software on the market.
