17 May 2009 - .MGX Exhibit at Moss in NYC
“Beauty has always been viewed as something mysterious and intangible; a semi-divine property not amenable to scientific investigation. Yet the mathematical tools that determine beauty are gradually being understood. At .MGX we have been developing the techniques that enable the essence of beauty to be captured in an algorithm.”
.MGX by Materialise is excited to announce that its new E-volution collection along with a number of its most innovative pieces will be featured in a new show entitled “123” at Moss in New York City from May 17 until June 27, (coinciding with the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF).
In addition to pieces by Patrick Jouin (Solid collection), Amanda Levete, and Lars Spuybroek, there will be the latest creations by Arik Levy, Hani Rashid, Bathsheba Grossman, Luc Merx, Platform Studio, and Peter Jansen – including his incredible Julia.MGX. At over a metre long, with its energy saving bulbs, the Julia.MGX is the biggest chandelier ever produced by .MGX and shows what surprising, imaginative and original forms can be brought about when art and technology are merged.
Together, these pieces will form the largest exhibition of .MGX works ever assembled. We invite you to come and learn more about our prize winning creations, get a firsthand look at our new collection, and experience the magic of .MGX.
