Materialise - Official partner of PGO
PGO started to develop “The Speedster II” in 1998, which was consequently presented at the Paris Motor Show in 2000. Thanks to the presence and impact of this roadster at the show, PGO then became a fully fledged car manufacturer.
For 2008 in order to further develop upon previous success, PGO choose Materialise as a partner to develop a new car for the Paris Motor Show. This is not a dream, but a real car that could be ordered at the show. Thanks to the help of the biggest stererolitography machines in the world, the patented Materialise Mammoth machines, PGO pushed the boundries of rapid manufacturing techniques to make the project a reality.
The project commenced in March 2008, and after the development phase, the first 3D files arrived at Materialise only 3 months before the show. PGO made an assembly of the whole car using the stereolithography parts produced by Materialise. After some small modifications to the parts, the stereolithography components were used as masters to make moulds from, enabling PGO to produce 3 sets of parts in order to build the first 3 vehicles. The “Hemera“ (derived from a Greek God) was born, and has now been presented for the 1st time at the Paris Motor Show. Thanks to Materialise, this project was a success, and the partnership is further progressing into the actual production of the series.
