Getting Started
Course Description and Prerequisites
You have little or no experience using SimPlant 3D digital visualization software and SurgiGuide drill guides, which accurately transfer your planning onto your patient. Learn to use this technology to your benefit and still work with your favorite implant brands and scanner. Step by step, we will take you through the entire process – from scan, to plan, to guide – and teach you everything you need to know to get started!
Participants master basic computer skills.
Course Objectives
Upon completing this course you will be able to:
• Assess your patient’s anatomy in 3D
• Read (CB)CT images and navigate between 2D and 3D views
• Highlight vital structures, such as the alveolar nerve
• Use the implant library and pre-select your favorite implants
• Place realistic implants and abutments, and adjust their position
• View and analyze bone density
• Know which case requires a tooth-, bone- or mucosa-supported drill guide

Next Step
Course Description and Prerequisites
You already “got started” some time ago and want to expand and refine your knowledge in 3D Digital Dentistry. Experienced colleagues will share their clinical knowledge with you and show how they’ve integrated this technology into their practice. Participants have taken the “Getting Started” course or already master the above-mentioned skills by own experience.
Course Objectives
Upon completing this course you will be able to:
• Parallel and align implants
• Use the powerful 3D view with clipping feature to view inside the bone
• Use the collision detection tool
• Visualize the most ideal alignment of underlying implants using the virtual teeth tool
• Simulate grafts using the bone grafting tool
• Design your SurgiGuide drill guide according to your own preferences
- Getting Started
Course Description and Prerequisites
Materialise Dental and worldwide scan processing centers can provide you with in-depth 3D access to your patient’s CT images by converting the scan files into 3D SimPlant files. However, it might be interesting for you to learn how to do this yourself. Maybe you have a scanner in your office, or maybe you just want to save precious time. By learning to use a simple wizard, you’ll find that it really isn’t that complicated!
Participants are, or are interested in becoming, SimPlant Pro or Master users. This course is often organized as an add-on to Computer Guided Implant Dentistry courses.
Course Objectives
Upon completing this course you will be able to:
• Convert 2D images into 3D images
• Remove artifacts and scatter
• Separate opposing arches, the mandible or maxilla and the scan prosthesis if applicable
• Draw a panoramic curve
• Know the difference between Single and Dual Scan Guidelines
• Enhance the quality of your 3D image
- Next Step
Course Description and Prerequisites
You’re a perfectionist! You already know how to create a rough 3D image, but you want to go further. You want to create highly sophisticated 3D images, with nicely separated tooth roots, smooth surfaces and detailed 3D objects. Take some time, learn the details, we’ll make you shine!
Participants have successfully completed the “Getting Started” course.
Course Objectives
This course gets you to an advanced level, refining the skills attained in the “Getting Started” course.
