Praising Your Results on Additive Manufacturing and Innovative Design
15 years Magics! Happy Birthday!
In 2008 Magics celebrates its 15th anniversary. Looking back at 15 years of software development for the Additive Fabrication and Manufacturing industry, Materialise wishes to pay tribute to the most outstanding applications of its software, not only Magics, but also 3-matic. For this reason, Materialise offered the inaugural edition of the Materialise Pyramid Awards in 2008.
The Materialise Pyramid Awards 2008 consisted of two categories, Magics applications and 3-matic applications. The most creative and/or groundbreaking software applications were selected to win prizes. The winner in each category received a check for 2,000 Euro. Runners-up won 1,000 Euro, and third place winners received an .MGX design lamp.

All six winners were announced at the end of the first conference day of the Materialise Innovation Forum on September 17th, 2008, in Leuven, Belgium. Most participants also attended this two day conference on software solutions for Additive Fabrication, Additive Manufacturing and CAE professionals, and were called on stage to personally receive their prize. Each participant also received a trophy which represented the three dimensional pyramid that is used as a logo for the awards. Both first place winners received a painted stereolithography model, while the runners-up received a smaller, laser sintered model.
