Being involved from an early stage, Materialise provided the Philips engineers with extended quotes and technical support to optimise their design for injection moulding.
Several tests with alternative materials were performed in prototype moulds. Our team was able to keep down costs by developing a tool with interchangeable cores (3 versions of assy housing were injected in just 1 mould). The customer was invited to our production site to discuss first samples. On delivery, the whole project was supported by detailed measurement reports according to the customer's specifications.
