25 Jan 2008 - Materialise USA holds open house in California

Ann Arbor (MI), January 28, 2008. The US office of Materialise NV, world leader in software development for the Rapid Prototyping and Manufacturing (RP&M) industry, has successfully organized an open house seminar at its premises in California, USA on Wednesday January 23rd, 2008.

The seminar was open to all RP users who aim to improve their effectiveness in 3D Prototyping. The goal of the open house was to bring attendees up to speed with the new Magics solutions and to focus on how Magics can save both time and money. Magics is software for RP&M professionals that offers a wide range of tools to efficiently build high quality prototypes. Steve Griffiths, RP&M Software Manager, started off the seminar by presenting the worldwide trends in the use of Magics. His presentation focused on Magics’ pioneering work in numerous RP applications and the key role Materialise plays in the RP&M industry as a whole.

e-Stage, Materialise’ new, fully automated and revolutionary technology for support generation was discussed by Sven Faulconer. e-Stage automates the work preparation process when supporting SLA parts by eliminating manual editing. The software also optimizes the build process and significantly cuts finishing time by generating its unique support structure.

The final topic at the open house seminar was Magics e-RP, software for digital RP planning. Jon Moss talked about how Magics e-RP streamlines and automates the entire RP&M process, from order follow-up and data preparation, over platform scheduling and machine monitoring, to production planning and part tracking.
