14 Jan 2008 - Additional Mammoth capacity

Materialise continues to invest in its patented Mammoth technology. In October 2007, we took an 8th Mammoth machine in production. This machine has several new features compared to our other Mammoth machines.

The Mammoth team in the meantime have developed a great knowledge in crucial areas of the technology. This team of experts worked hard to develop an improved optical system for our latest Mammoth machine, resulting in the production of models with an impressive layer thickness of just 0.1 mm. The first results really show a superb surface quality of parts.

With the commissioning of Mammoth VIII, we also introduced a new material - Protogen White. It offers high dimensional stability via low water absorption and high green strength. Other advantages of this new multipurpose material include faster processing speed with higher accuracy and higher heat deflection temperatures.
Protogen White is suited for general purpose applications with ABS-like specifications, ideal for markets that demand accurate RTV patterns, durable concept models and highly accurate parts.

With the installation of Mammoth VIII, we now have 26 stereolithography machines up and running in our Belgian facilities and 9 different stereolithography materials available.
We are convinced that in this wide range of materials, we can always find an appropriate solution for your application.
