3-matic 4.3: Out Now!
Enhanced CADlink module translates complex geometry easily into CAD data
Following the forward engineering principle, 3-matic allows you to make design changes directly on scan data and perform complex repairs, without having to go to CAD. However, 3-matic’s CADlink module can convert your data to CAD when dictated by further steps in the production process.
The CADlink module makes reverse engineering of any freeform geometry a piece of cake. Its new splitting algorithm automatically breaks up freeform geometry in optimal patches for export. Since manually splitting freefrom geometry in definable patches can be a lengthy job, this automatic algorithm will prove to be a real time-saver. The number of automatically generated patches is limited, making sure you will not end up with an excess of small patches.
Besides the IGES export, the software now also enables to export directly to STEP format. Combine the splitting algorithm for freeform surfaces with the traditional segmentation tools and you have full control over the reverse engineering process and result. Additionally, you can benefit from speedier processing thanks to the multi-processor handling.
