Webinar

Increasing Confidence in Congenital Heart Defect Intervention

About this webinar

Children with end-stage heart failure on the waiting list for heart transplant surgery face the highest mortality rate of transplantation candidates, with 17% mortality in a recent study. Innovative imaging techniques are needed to improve the safety and assessment of eligibility for the implantation of mechanical circulatory support (MCS) devices to safely prolong children's lives until a suitable organ becomes available. In a pediatric setting, using virtual fitting to assess the spatial stability for LVAD selection offers physicians increased confidence to treat congenital heart defects. Join Dr. Ryan Moore to learn how Mimics can be used to perform virtual fits for LVAD selection.

What you will learn

  • Recent advances in pediatric heart failure
  • The use of mechanical circulatory support devices (MCS)
  • The MCS needs in a pediatric setting
  • Tools and techniques for virtual implantation of MCS devices
  • Future applications
