Software Application Developer (Ghent)

Responsibilities

You will be in charge for creating & developing web applications that will interact with our Materialise Control Platform: our software-driven, embedded hardware solution that allows you to take full control of your laser-based AM machine. Key responsibilities:

  • Transform product requirements to a real-life application;
  • Create & develop Windows applications that will interact with our Materialise Control Platform;
  • Create & develop User Interfaces;
  • Write well designed, testable, efficient code by using best software development practices;
  • Gather and refine specifications and requirements based on technical needs and formulate those in design documentation;
  • Create and maintain software documentation;
  • Be responsible to maintain, expand, and scale the desktop and web commissioning applications for our software applications;
  • Stay plugged into emerging technologies/industry trends and apply them.

Requirements

  • BS in computer science or a related field;
  • Proven working experience in software application development;
  • An understanding of how desktop applications work and best development practices;
  • An understanding of how web applications work, including security, session management, and best development practices is a bonus;
  • Excellent problem diagnosis and creative problem solving skills;
  • Strong organizational skills to juggle multiple tasks within the constraints of timelines and budgets with business acumen;
  • Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment, learn rapidly and master diverse web technologies and techniques;
  • Experience or familiarity with any or multiple of the following is considered a major asset:
    • C/C++/C#
    • QT Creator & QML
    • RESTful web services
    • GIT & TFS
    • JavaScript
    • Hands-on experience with network diagnostics
