LabVIEW Developer - Ghent

Responsibilities

You will participate in the product development of one of the leading software solutions for the 3D printing industry: The Materialise Control Platform.  This is our software-driven, embedded hardware solution that allows you to take full control of your laser-based AM machine. Here you can find more information on the Materialise Control Platform.
The Materialise Control Platform is continuously growing in features, protocol and hardware support. To reinforce our development team, we are looking for an enthusiastic LabVIEW developer that is willing to learn all about additive manufacturing and embedded programming with LabVIEW.

You will be responsible for developing and maintaining parts of the embedded code from our Materialise Control Platform. The code targets are running real-time Linux and have an FPGA as coprocessor. 

Your main tasks & responsibilities are:

  • Developing real-time code for the MCP Controller
    • Creating new software services
    • Optimizing the existing code set to improve runtime performance
  • Supporting the process R&D team at HQ
    • Aiding their need for code modifications
    • Refactoring their code into robust product-code
  • Developing FPGA code for the MCP Controller
    • Debugging and extending the various algorithms
    • Creating new code for new hardware additions to the platform
  • Keep track of source code development via our source code control system
  • Keep track of IP-status of source code via our license activation system
  • Be a team player between team Gent (your home base) and process-team HQ (Leuven)
  • Create future sustainable source code in a multi-programmer environment

Requirements

  • You have a bachelor degree (or equivalent by experience) in Engineering / Computer Science;
  • Experience with LabVIEW Real-Time and/or FPGA is considered a bonus;
  • Strong affinity with computer based automation and mechatronics;
  • Good English communication skills;
  • Hands-on and flexible approach to your work;
  • Good communication and problem solving skills;
  • You're a team player.
