It’s time for AMUG – the 3D printing event that has been around since the early days of the technology. It unites people from the industry, both new and veterans and is a great way to discover new innovations, network, and learn about exciting projects. Our experts will be there in St. Louis, Missouri, from April 8-12 to support you. At the event, see our latest innovations, get a demo of our 3D printing software suite, including Materialise Magics, and attend one of our presentations. Plus, you can book one-on-one meetings here.

Read on to discover five activities you shouldn't miss:

1. The Innovators Showcase

Materialise CEO Wilfried Vancraen

When: April 11, 9:00 - 10:00
Interviewing Materialise CEO Fried Vancraen

Did you know that our CEO and Founder, Fried Vancraen, was selected for the AMUG Innovators Award? The award will be presented to Fried on Wednesday during the Innovators Showcase Keynote interview. During this casual, intimate interview, attendees will have the opportunity to get to know Fried better and gain guidance from his experiences. Be sure to join us there.

2. Reducing costs and speeding up the validation of AM parts

Manuel Michiels Materialise Business Developer

When: April 10, 2:45 – 3:15
Presenter: Manuel Michiels, Business Developer, Software

Validating AM parts for manufacturing remains an important challenge within our industry. This presentation shares experiences from Materialise’s AM production centers in Europe for medical and industrial applications, where process engineering costs have been reduced in every step of the process by combining process simulation and machine learning methodologies in the pre- and post-building production phase.

3. Materialise Magics Workshop

Evan Kirby Materialise Senior Application Engineer

When: April 11, 1:30 – 2:45 pm
Presenter: Evan Kirby, Application Engineering Manager

Materialise Magics has a lot to offer, from file conversion to advanced fixing, editing and build platform preparation. Do you want to learn more about the capabilities of the software or do you want to check if you use it in the most efficient way? Come to our workshop and we will turn you into an expert. Newbies can receive a free 30-day evaluation.

4. Metal support generation made easy – Proto Labs

Titanium e-Stage for Metal support generation

When: April 11, 3:15 – 4 pm
Presenter: David Bentley, Proto Labs and Evan Kirby, Materialise

This presentation is given by Materialise and Proto Labs and focuses on support generation for Metal 3D Printing. Creating and removing support structures takes much effort and time. That’s why Materialise came up with a unique solution that automates support generation and makes support removal much easier. Proto Labs explains how they experienced the software program.

5. Lattice structure design for Additive Manufacturing

Jalel Nadji Materialise Application Engineer

When: April 12, 2:30 - 3:00 pm
Presenter: Jalel Nadji, Materialise USA

Cellular space filling materials efficiently reduce the weight of a structural component. It gives the engineer more design and manufacturing freedom. But where do you use them, how do you efficiently create and size them and how do you analyze them using FEA? Attend this presentation if you are looking for answers to these questions.

The proposed methodology is illustrated on an industrial use-case developed in collaboration with Siemens Industry Software NV and The Ghent University.

We hope to see you soon at AMUG. Be sure to drop by booth P10 for a chat with our experts, and don’t miss out on our wonderful speakers!
