Every spring, we start raising funds for an initiative particularly close to our hearts: the Benin Summer School. This year, our software department challenged the company to raise the ambitious amount of 10,000€ - and even introduced some friendly competition in pitting Materialise headquarters against all our offices combined. So if we were going to be successful, it was clear that we couldn’t just stick to the traditional Run4Benin, the race we run each year to raise money for Benin.

The end of November is approaching and with it, one of the biggest medical events of the year: RSNA. Hosted by the Radiological Society of North America, this event is an opportunity for radiologists across the world to get up to date with the latest innovations and evolutions in the field of radiology. One such innovation is 3D Printing – here’s what attendees can look forward to for this year’s edition.
On November 8, we will be taking part in the Family of the Future, an event organized by Flam3D. It will showcase the state-of-the-art in 3D printing technology, including an overview of available technologies and how they can add value to a variety of different industries. And among the displays will be a 3D-printed toy robot, designed and produced by Materialise!
Last week, it was time for the third edition of Materialise China’s Focus Day! This year’s edition was called “Dream Big in 3Dimensions”; a two-day event uniting high-end speakers from different industries, and over 200 visitors who ranged from customers and partners to industrial players interested in the possibilities of Additive Manufacturing. The World Knowledge Forum in Seoul unites some of the brightest people in the world to discuss how to promote balanced global economic growth and prosperity in Korea. The speakers aim to reduce knowledge gaps through knowledge sharing and include - just to name some: Hillary Clinton, Former U.S. Secretary of State; François Hollande, President of the French Republic (2012-2017); Ban Ki-moon - Secretary-General of United Nations (2007-2016); and our very own CEO Wilfried Vancraen.

At Materialise, we’re always looking for new ways to make our mission statement a reality. So in the interest of creating a better and healthier world, we joined Car-Free Day! From 16-22 September, the “Week van de Mobiliteit” or, Mobility Week, takes place in Belgium. It’s an entire week filled with events and initiatives aimed at encouraging environmentally friendly travel – and we’re proud to say we took part.
Featuring respected additive manufacturing companies from all over the world, this three-day event will focus on five sectors, including industries such as automotive, aeronautics, consumer goods, healthcare and industrial additive manufacturing. But above all, IN(3D)USTRY will be putting customer applications of 3D Printing in the foreground to really bring home how the technology is used in concrete ways.
